Kyle “The Designated Hitter” McElroy brings nearly three decades of martial arts experience and more than 20 years of coaching experience to 3D Martial Arts.
Kyle began training in 1996 and entered his first kickboxing competition the following year. In 1998, he captured his first championship as the Illinois State TBC Champion. He continued climbing through the competitive ranks, becoming the IFF Regional Champion in 1999 and winning the IKF National Championship in both 2000 and 2001.
In 2000, Kyle was selected as a member of Team USA. He made his professional debut in 2002 and went on to compete in several memorable bouts, including his 2005 match against Brandon Adamson, which was recognized as the IKF Fight of the Year.
Kyle’s impact on martial arts extends far beyond his own competitive career. After more than two decades of developing students and fighters, he was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2018 and received the Kickboxing Coach of the Year award.
Kyle now serves as the Head Striking Coach at 3D Martial Arts, where he leads the Muay Thai and striking program. His goal is to help every student to build strong fundamentals, confidence, discipline, and high-level striking skills from complete beginners to experienced competitors.
